• In previous generations, especially for those who entered the workforce during the mid to late 1900s, it was possible for a generic individual to reliably use his status as an employee to achieve financial prosperity. These kinds of ubiquitously low-variance economic participation requirements were the ecosystem that formed the substance behind the rhetoric of the ostensible "American Dream," and indeed, was historically the motivating force behind why so many people from the so-called "third world" yearned and strove to immigrate to the United States. All one needed was a job, which was widely available, and with prudent saving, one could reliably enter the middle class before middle age. Even in places like China—obliterated by a hundred years of war, famine, and strife—slogans like the "iron rice bowl" represented an inherent promise of stability, despite that country's complete inability to offer its citizens the kind of material prosperity that Americans enjoyed during the economic boom of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s.

• However, unbeknownst to the Millennials at the time who were just wrapping up high school or college, 2008 silently shifted the economic paradigm. We now live in an era in which one's status as an employee (i.e. "having a job") no longer assures financial stability let alone financial prosperity. All across the world, in both the East and the West, the economic stakes have risen to historic highs. The key to any modicum of economic success now requires individuals to interface directly with the open marketplace as their own self-contained nodes. In other words, entrepreneurship—once a niche sector for individuals who could afford high risk tolerances—is now a requirement for survival. Consequently, there now exists a legion of financial advisors and business gurus on YouTube who herald widespread entrepreneurship as a hallmark of progress; however, a circumspect and judicious review of these circumstances yields a far more solemn assessment.

• Steady progress in any aspect of human endeavor requires pre-existing infrastructure that survives across time. One can imagine how impossible any sort of meaningful human progress would be if each subsequent generation was compelled to proverbially reinvent the wheel from the stone age. This is why entrepreneurship is supposed to operate at the peripheries of an already self-perpetuating economic system—the latter provides stability, and in exchange, the former provides progress. It is simply too much for every individual to rederive all the meta of functional interface with the open market on his own, and yet, these are exactly the circumstances in which we find ourselves today.

• Secondly, if you have made it this far, it is very likely that you are already in some subcategory of sex work. Perhaps you have experimented with prostitution in the past, but more likely, you are already involved in pornography—either amateur content on platforms like OnlyFans, or maybe even working with formal porn production studios with formal porn agency representation. Regardless, if that is indeed the case, then you are already well into maelstrom of contending with economic forces as an individual executor. In that respect, you are well ahead of the hapless masses who were brow-beaten into decades worth of college debt because their Baby Boomer parents were convinced that "financial prosperity" depended on getting a "good job" (now a rare scarcity) which depended on "going to university" (now woefully overpriced). However, despite this comparative advantage, you are operating in an arena that is extremely unforgiving. The rewards for success in sex work are indeed enormous, but the consequences for committing errors in this business are equally unforgiving.

• Much of the information on this webpage is dedicated to the question of mechanics—namely: what exactly Erotica Sinica does and how it does it. In an op-ed piece that I wrote for the 2025 AVN Expo Show Guide entitled Willing to Make History: A New Direction for Sex Work, I went into great detail about the predictable market inefficiencies (i.e., unnecessary loss of revenue and income) that occur when prostitution and pornography are separated. I sat on the InterNext stage at the 2025 AVN Expo shoulder-to-shoulder with representatives from the largest adult content platforms in the West and openly declared to them and the entire audience what an egregious error it was to overlook the watershed significance of the fact that there does exist a fully legal option for prostitution in the state of Nevada—the very location where AVN is held every year! And while it is indeed true—as I find myself continually reemphasizing—that the key to success in sex work lies in combining the infrastructure of the legal Nevada brothels with pornography, there does exist an inescapable reason why so few have successfully bridged this divide.

• Whether it be from a business strategy perspective, a legal regulation perspective, or a marketing perspective, the entire sex industry as a whole has proverbially painted itself into a corner. No matter whether one examines the legal brothel industry or the pornography industry, this assessment holds true. It is simply not realistic for an individual sex worker to simultaneously take on the ossified pathologies of both the brothel industry, the pornography industry, and still have the wherewithal to keep providing the sex itself! For the sake of absolute clarity, if you are already a pornstar who is convinced that you can find success in the legal Nevada brothels, I sincerely wish you the best of luck and hope that you achieve your objectives. Just know that the information you need to succeed is scattered, disorganized, unintuitive, and rarely—if ever—gets passed on from one sex worker to the next.

• Ultimately, all of this is to illustrate the reason why I even mention the traditional consensus between employment and entrepreneurship. That is to say, entrepreneurship, in order to maximize its chances for success, ought to enter the open market place from some kind of safe haven, because the vicissitudes of the free market are too much for an individual to handle from the outset, and sex work is no different. This, fundamentally speaking, is the entire reason for Erotica Sinica's existence—to provide that safe haven so that sex workers, both pornstars and prostitutes alike, can reliably and adequately combine these two worlds and thereby reap the concomitant rewards, pecuniary or otherwise. For years, I have built Erotica Sinica from the ground up with the express purpose of providing value to sex workers that is both actionable and voluminous, and much of that value comes in the form of information curation. That, in essence, is the constituent substance of the metaphorical safe haven that Erotica Sinica strives to be.

• At the turn of the 21st century, the tides of change destroyed an entire generation—something that I personally had to witness. Silent economic forces are incrementally returning us to a much older social paradigm, one in which social mobility grows increasingly disconnected from individual diligence and effort, and becomes more a matter of whether one has access to inter-generational wealth. To be sure, this socioeconomic metamorphosis is not yet complete in the West, and undoubtedly still requires some more time to see full fruition, but the trajectory towards the gradual rebirth of hereditary serfdom is undeniable. Westerners alive today may not witness the rationalist light of the Renaissance extinguished within their lifetimes, but the future realities of human existence appear to be deeply medieval in character. In such a context, I implore you, pornstars and prostitutes everywhere, to make a forthright assessment of your personal circumstances. Do you have access to a family or community that can shield you from these tribulations of tectonic transformation and assist your transition into prosperity? Or is this a battle you must fight largely from a position of isolation? The lessons of what prosperity requires in our current merciless social and economic environment were purchased at a dear price. But my offer to you, the sex worker, is an opportunity to benefit from the fact that this price, though ruthlessly steep, has already been paid. Perhaps, for the first time in sex work, the penalties of ignorance need not fall upon the shoulders of the next generation. If knowledge, wisdom, and understanding are things you are willing to take seriously (things that originally were supposed to be the purview of the university system), there is a vast horizon of opportunities to be had in sex work. I cannot say with certainty whether this will remain true in the decades to come, but I can say with the utmost conviction that it is true for now in our current circumstances. This, ladies, is the historical moment of our time. There are an uncountable number of companies in the modern sex industry that promise an entire litany of benefits that come with associating yourselves with them. But from what I can currently tell, Erotica Sinica is the only company who can promise you the adventure of a lifetime, and that is a badge of honor that I gladly wear with pride.
